WHAT NEXT?

Excitements rocks the Technology space in Nigeria as Elon Musk Starlink is set to battle MTN, Glo, Airtel, 9mobile, ISPs for internet users in Nigeria.
What is Starlink?
Starlink is a low latency broadband internet system that is initiated by Elon Musk the billionaire to meet consumers of internet in deep rural areas with very low internet capacity across the world. Starlink lunch has been on the process for sometimes ago until in May, 2021 when SpaceX sent representatives to the Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) to obtain an operational license.
According to NCC…
“The company received two licenses, which include the International Gateway license and Internet Service Provider (ISP) license, and will be trading as Starlink Internet Services Nigeria Ltd. According to NCC, the International Gateway license has a 10-year tenure while the ISP license is to last for five years. Both licenses take effect from May 2022 and may be renewed after the expiration.” NCC
Although the price value for starlink is high compared to other internet plans in Nigeria is higher at an average cost of $50 (N330, 000 approximately), but not with a hope that starlink will introduce a cheaper plans for Nigerians.
In my Perspective?
It’s a gain for the Nigerian communities which have been craving for a reliable network access across all localities. And as the elections draw close, it is expected that NCC will make use of this opportunity and conduct free and fair elections across all the local governments’ areas and transmit elections results without network hindrances.
